The Benefits of Regular Detailing for Your Vehicle in Westminster

Updated: May 5, 2023

Having your vehicle regularly detailed is necessary in order to keep your car looking new and should be done routinely in the same way you maintain your vehicle with oil changes, filter changes, etc.

After being in the detailing industry for a long time, I have seen that the interiors that we can't get looking brand new are almost always cars that have been neglected for many years and never detailed. When stains are left in a carpet or seat fabric for many years, at a certain point they become permanent. On the other hand, I have seen extremely dirty cars from kids, dogs, and general filth that come perfectly clean because they regularly clean the vehicle.

Detailing can undo just about any mess that happens in your car as long as it is cleaned shortly after rather than many months or years later. The following are some of the many benefits of regularly detailing your vehicle.

Detailing Protects Your Paint From Fading

One of the biggest reasons to consistently detail your vehicle is to prevent your paint from fading. By applying a wax, sealant, or ceramic coating you add an extra barrier between the clearcoat of your car and the outside elements.

We provide all of our detailing services mobile, so we only offer a wash and wax service because we are always working out in the sun. Ceramic coatings last longer and are usually much more expensive to have applied, but they should only be applied in a shaded and controlled environment.

Detailing Protects Plastics and Leather From Cracking

The exterior of the car isn't the only thing that needs to be protected and maintained to remain looking new. Interior plastics and leather also need to be regularly protected with some sort of dressing or conditioner. These products can protect your plastic from harmful UV rays for about 2-4 weeks. Another way to protect the interior of your car from the sun is by tinting your windows. Even if you don't want to have your windows appear darker, you can get a clear tint that protects your interior from the sun and keeps the inside of your car cooler.

Another reason to apply a leather conditioner is it makes the surface softer and less likely to rip or tear. Without any type of dressing or conditioner, leather can become very hard and stiff making it more prone to ripping. Leather should be soft and supple so that when it is touched it can stretch rather than tear.

Detailing Improves Your Car's Cleanliness

This may be an obvious benefit of car detailing, but you don't want to be the person with a nasty car that no one wants to be in. The cleanliness of your car can say a lot about a person, so it is important that your car is always clean inside and out. This especially matters if you ever drive your boss or other important people around and want to make a good impression.

Detailing Preserves the Resale Value of Your Vehicle

Because your paint and interior will be in better condition, people will be willing to pay more to buy your car than other cars that haven't been taken care of. Additionally, when you keep your car clean, people assume that you also took care of the car mechanically. In turn, they will be willing to spend more on a car that looks like it will last longer than a dirty neglected car.

Detailing Can Even Make Your Car Run Better

Believe it or not, detailing can actually make your engine run better and prevent overheating. When your engine is covered in thick layers of dirt and grime, it can act as an insulator keeping the heat of your motor from being dispersed. When you have your engine bay cleaned, there is no dirt to insulate the heat from your engine.

If you are located in the Westminster area, we would be happy to help you experience the many benefits that come from detailing. We are a mobile operation and can detail your vehicle at your home, office, or anywhere that is convenient for you. If you are located somewhere else, I would recommend finding a good detailer in your area to maintain your vehicle. You can also learn to perform these services yourself. We have all of the products that we use listed on our website if you would be interested in taking on the job yourself.
